The Power of Love

In order to have true change, love is needed at the center. It is through love that we can unify. It is through love that we can support one another unconditionally. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, let us not forget the very reason for his purpose. The legacy that we must carry on is one in which love is at the center. For as Martin Luther King Jr. once stated, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

Will you choose to love? Or will you choose to use your voice, influence, status, and power to spread hate? As a leader, I know God has put me on this earth to spread His love. To be a light and salt of this earth, that is filled with darkness. I will forever be grateful that God chose to love us first by sending His son, Jesus Christ to be a sacrifice for our sins (John 3:16). As a minister of the Lord’s work, Martin Luther King Jr., led in love. Therefore, as he did I too charge you to be the change you wish to see in the world (Mahatma Ghandi).

“Make a career of humanity. Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a better person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in." ~ Martin Luther King Jr.
