Black History Month
Black History Month
is not meant to be a substitute to the daily continuation of creating safe space, opportunity, equity, and inclusion for Black people throughout the world. For those of you who consider yourself to be an ally, remember it is your duty to be an advocate and stand up for what is right daily for your Black peers, colleagues, and friends. For my white allies, continue to use your privilege and platform to do the same.
To my Black brothers and sisters, never take off your crown. For you are worthy, fearfully, and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). You were made for such a time as this (Esther 4:14) and are needed more than ever! I stand by you, for you, and with you. For I am thankful to be a Black woman that has worked hard to get to where I am today as an educational leader and minister of God's word. No one will shake us down and cease the mighty power within us to make an impact on our society, for we have successfully led generations for years to come. I will continue to use my platform to be a blessing, speak life, and encourage those around me to love themselves well, find their purpose, and walk it out excellently, boldly, and confidently. I hope that you join me to do the same, day in and day out.
To close, never forget that "The time is always right to do what is right." ~ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
